          In 2021, USSoccer combined the job descriptions of instructor and assessor into the job description of 
          "mentor".

           The mentor's job is to observe your game, and offer observations/suggestions/support to help you
           improve your game based upon YOUR GAME SKILLS.

          For referees seeking to upgrade their badge, the mentor performs the same duties AND recommends
          whether the referee merits an upgrade. The game observation is just one of the requirements a referee
          must demonstrate mastery.
